On a picturesque land between two hills, surrounded by willow trees, the village Salcuta was born. Since then, local people have been involved in different types of agricultural activities as the land showed to be generous. Viticulture shortly became one of the main crafts practiced by many households. A wine era has started.


The main winery is established where the talented local people of Salcuta village started winemaking, that gradually excelled into the finest wines being produced in the region.


Eugen Pislaru, a man with special attachment to the land and a life-long passion towards viticulture decided to transform Salcuta in one of the first wineries where the entire production cycle: having its own vineyards to using own machinery and facilities is monitored by him. He defined Vitis Vinifera as the purpose of his life, which was handed over to his oldest son Sergiu Pislaru.


Having inherited the passion and ambition of his father, and being involved in winemaking since early stages Sergiu Pislaru has implemented a new modernization process. He has secured that both the vineyards and the winery are equipped with last generation machinery, which in turn enhanced the international recognition and gave birth to our authentic and modern wines adapted to local conditions.


Sălcuța winery is named the Best Winery in Moldova for being a high quality wines producer, promotion of the traditions and excellent quality of the local wines, contributing to the country’s image as a wine country on a global level , as well as for the devotion to the development of the Moldovan wine tourism. A true recognition for the effort of our people.

It is well aware that a good wine can be made only by the winemaker controlling the whole production cycle: from planting the vine cuttings to the bottling of the wine and delivering it to customers.
