“This land is full of memories, thoughts laid out on paper and my grandfather’s work. When my father stepped on this territory, together with my mother, a love story was added to this place, a start of a family. When my brother and I stepped on this land, we added emotions, a desire to discover with innovative ideas, the love to carry with holiness a work of years transformed into an overflowing passion. Salcuta is not just part of the family, it represents our family. ”

As the Salcuta story started from a thought written on a piece of paper, I want to bring you closer to our story through the Blog. This first article is emotional, it is different than any other you will find here on the page, because this is the story seen through my eyes – Dina, niece of Eugen Pislaru, daughter of Sergiu Pislaru and Cornelia Pislaru and sister of Titus.

The love for land, vines and grapes started from my childhood, and every time I am in Salcuta, it is as if I return to the moments when I was walking with my grandfather among the vines. My grandfather was a true people’s person. He was born in Cernauti, and his life brought him to the southeast part of Moldova, where, being the mayor of Causeni district, all his time was dedicated to ensuring the welfare of the people, to discover the lands, to protect them, to come up with initiatives to bring change to the whole district. I am embraced by nostalgia, when I remember how, at a few years old, my time was mostly spent in my grandfather’s arms, surrounded by love, protection, harmony.

Being his first niece, he became very attached to me, and over the years, in addition to the love I had for him, I developed an enormous appreciation not only as a grandfather, but also as a professional. From an early age, we witnessed discussions, visits to agricultural lands, where my grandfather was speaking with enthusiasm about the potential of fertile soil, which can be found throughout Moldova, and how proud is he to spend a whole life working and living in such picturesque places, witnessing the whole process of growing vines. The spiritual connection I had with him is still alive, and now, I can understand that even when he was not speaking, his eyes full of enthusiasm and his hands full of toil were saying so much. I learned more when we were both silent, walking through the vineyard, or on the land where it was to be one of the most modernized wineries in the country.

He nurtured in me the emotional part of a business, teaching me what it’s like to love what you do and live by doing what you love. I am proud that I took over many qualities that formed me: the team spirit, what it means to be a leader and, at the same time, I know that I took over from him this sense of responsibility towards the country. Yes, this is the spirit I carry on, to cherish the land, the traditions, the people, not to stop myself from the initiatives to promote along with the other wineries the country brand and to contribute to bring to the spotlight an undiscovered treasure of the globe – Moldova.

Our discussions about the future were long and emotional, and I felt ready to get involved, side by side with them in this beautiful story. But life took me to another country to study, and when I came home, he had left us for good. His soul is in the house and in the vineyard, and I have kept his words in mind and I always hear him say: “All my trust is in you, Dinuta! I am sure that you will reach heights that no one will reach, the important thing is work, work, and work again and most importantly, never forget to be a good human. ”

In 1995, when the company was founded, my grandfather knew that it would be part of the family. Thus, in the whole process of setting up the brand, my father took over the relay, under the careful guidance of my grandfather. The relationship between my grandfather and my father was a harmonious one. My grandfather’s knowledge and experience correlated with my father’s ideas and enthusiasm. Over time, my grandfather dedicated the last years of his life to our vineyards, and my father remained responsible for the expansion part of the company, implicitly in the production part. Being present from the beginning of this beautiful business the grandfather impregnated in us a desire to work in tandem. As my father was the second generation who chose to make Salcuta part of his life, he passed on this dedication, involving me and my brother in the whole process of production, promotion and expansion.

I think the most beautiful thing that exists on this earth is to know your mission, to do what you love and to live to the fullest, enjoying the things you do. I feel very lucky because from an early age I realized that in the future I would have to take over this legacy, and I was aware of its emotional value. The founding of Salcuta was, first of all, the moment when my grandfather found himself – and found his mission, it was the moment when he understood what his role is in this life and how he will spend every day until the end of his life. .

This land is full of memories, thoughts laid out on paper and my grandfather’s work.

Salcuta is the place where I spend almost all my time, starting with the vineyards, the winery and the office, where I am part of a team, where I do what I love and it brings me pleasure, where I find refuge in the most difficult moments, where I find myself , where we share all the unforgettable moments with the loved ones. It is a part of me, it is a baggage that I carry every day with great pride and joy.

I want to continue to take care of the land where we were born, the place where we spend every day, to develop our tourist facilities to open our gates for every traveler and to make every effort to serve as a place where every visitor could feel at home and where wines representative of our country and family are produced. I want to pass this heritage on to my children, my grandchildren, because it is such a spiritual heritage, which will help them in their formation as personalities, but also physical, where they can cultivate values, memories and grapes, having the opportunity to walk. through the vineyard, or to sit at a table at the winery with loved ones and a glass of wine made from the soul.

What is more beautiful than living in a fast-moving world driven by technology? A life where you have direct contact with the earth, see with your own eyes how a stalk bears fruit in thousands of grapes rich in taste and aromas, and then enjoy the result obtained with the dearest people, at any time, in a the atmosphere of the soul in the bosom of nature. With that we grew up, and our goal is for every glass of Salcuta to teleport you to a place where there are no worries, a place where anything can become a reality.

Every Friday, you will find here my words, but also I will bring here different guests with interesting information. And most importantly, you can start an article idea with a question. We are waiting for them at marketing@salcuta.com

Have an amazing weekend, wherever you go!

With love,

Dina.
